Violetta Larke was born in Curonia, her father (human) was absent due to reasons unknown, and her mother (human) was imprisoned a few years after she was born. She was raised by her grandfather, who was anti-religion. Her 2 siblings names are unknown. When she was young, she had many friends, although she cannot recall the names of them due to her forgetfulness. At the age of 7, she picked up a lute and discovered she was quite skilled at it, just stopping short of her gift for singing and the ability to tell enthralling stories. She began schooling, but stopped going once she could read and write because her grandfather didn’t want her to have religious influence. She has a keen insight into other people, and can make them laugh or cry with her stories or songs. At age 14, her grandfather was killed during a robbery gone wrong, only leaving her with a small amount of money to get by with, and following the tragedy, she began her career as a craftswoman to sustain herself, selling books of her poetry and stories, composing songs, and performing her songs, ending up working for the House of Grimoire in Arcas following the dissolving of the Curonian Kingdom at the age of 18. She has a pet rat named Alistair. She has never been romantically involved with anyone, though she easily writes love songs and fantasizes about love. She is strong emotionally, because of her many losses, and has a strong will to succeed.
