Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Nam reluctantly responds " My parents perished in a fire lit by our own kin, I don't know for what reason but I know that I was cursed before I was even born" she sits down the candles flickering to the *thud* if her weight on the tent floor, " I was only 8 when it happened, had to take up the sword and hunting just to survive" she shuffles through her bag pulling out an old map detailing the many kingdoms and settlements in the area " where i was born is beyond the borders of this here map, I'm looking for a cure to this curse that plagues my skin, and maybe the lineage to which my mother originated, she was someone strong, left the village to her sister and ran away with the man she loved," rage builds in her voice as she continues " I want to believe he is the reason my kin were hunting us but i barely knew him, his hair was white, so was my mothers," she touches her own shortened locks roughly kept short with a blade" why i am cursed i do not know but that is the reason for my skin and hair, i come here to these realms to find answers in my roots". she softens letting out all her hardships and sorrows these passed decade through light tears she talks about a bird she had befriended but one day it left and never returned, the people she met and the places she stayed both good and bad, you talk with the woman for hours about the joy you felt experiencing every new thing in the world, new flowers, the architecture even the seas vast and full of crashing waves, "I just wish they were still here so i wasn't experiencing it alone, I tend to not stay in one place long as people tend to fear me, why that is the case i don't know" a flicker of hope passes through her eyes mirroring the dance of the candles before her "If i could just find a place with an expanse of knowledge so i can learn better the current affairs in the surrounding area" she gestures to the map' "maybe be able to make more since of what it truly means to be in every one of those places, I might distract myself long enough to find peace, or find a lead to a cure, or at least someone with the ability to heal my body" she pauses, replaying the her parent's deaths in her mind, "maybe i can even become strong enough to take the heads of those to killed my parents who took such good care of me despite my curse" the conversation gone long the candles burning their last Nam stands up again and turns to leave but pauses and turns back and considers the old woman "thank you for listening to my prattling, maybe not all humans are all that bad after all, I'll see myself out" as she leaves the tent light begins to bloom over the horizon hauling her pack as she walks out of this town and towards the next,
