Joseph Hartwell is a man that has lived a sad and harsh life up to this point, he fairs from Shäelheim. He never got to know his father, as his father fled to Bekkrheim for work, abandoning his wife and child in the process. Joseph's mother would raise him until he was 10, when a terrible illness drove her already frail composition into the dirt. To the rest of the village, Joseph was a helpless and weak child, his home being a small fishing village, all he really could do was fight to survive. He lived by scrounging up the little scraps left over, and eventually learned how to fish on his own. During his first winter, a village elder took him in, kept him warm and taught him basic survival skills. He doesn't know much, and he hasn't known much love in his life. The elder was very kind to him for the couple of months he was with her until her last breath, as she was already so old she had not much longer to live, he never even got to know her name.
Despite his hardships, he eventually left his home village, traveling from town to town to find himself, and a place he belongs.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

He lets out a tired sigh as he takes a seat.. "You sure like to ask a bunch of questions don't you... " He faces the old woman with his fingers lightly clasped together "Where I come from doesn't matter anymore, and I am just a simple nobody." After a pause, his expression drops even more "As for that last question, I was hoping you could tell me..."
