You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
The young human woman sits opposite the hag with a curious gaze "Me? well their isn't much to tell really, im still young, learning the ropes of life. Lost my parents to a fire so now I am on my own" Valxori pauses remembering the event in which had claimed her family and her home, she shutters at the very thought. "im just a girl trying make her way in this crazy world, My father taught me how to use a sword, so perhaps ill join some local militia or be a sword for hire, though my mother also taught me how to cook and bake. Maybe ill start a restraunt, or work at one. Only time is going to tell what I do with my life"

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: When roleplaying something like a fight, and trying to attack, respond with something like, attempts to hit instead of saying you hit them without giving them a chance to respond.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: because its cheating... duh? JK LOL
Meta gaming disrupts roleplay as your character should not have the knowledge that you do. Thus when using knowledge out of character it wouldn't be fair.
