    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is the act of breaking away from character or using information that your character couldn't possibly have in order to give yourself an advantage. A good example would be you hearing about a secret event that occured ooc (that your character did not witness) and then disclosing that information in roleplay.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is giving your character abilities which would automatically place him in absurd positions of power, such as claiming your character is a god or omniscient (omniscience is often an excuse for metagaming). It is generally an attempt at abusing character development to obtain unearned power or advantage over other players.
