Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Ahh yes,when i was 15 my parents were killed by a group of dark elves During an attack on our village. Our houses were burned to the ground, and many women and children died. The men of the village including my father tried to defend, but the dark elves used dark magic to defeat us. My mother and i rode on a horse to flee however a dark elf managed to catch up with us killing my mother. Enraged with what just happend, my body reacted on its own grabbing my mothers sword and charging the elf head on. My inexperience had led me to be beat into a pulp. And on the brink of death, the dark elf swung at my head but i managed to weave in time. The blade struck my right eye, but i was able to move forward and thrust my blade into that bastard. After that whole ordeal i spent a few months looting and stealing from local merchants. One time i had tried to break into a black smiths house hoping to find food, but was met with a drop kick by the daughter of the black smith. During this moment there was a struggle but the father had woken up due to the sounds of yelling. The black smith grabbed his daughter off me and asked what i was doing. i told him im hungry, and i wanted to eat. He then asked about what had happend in my life for me to be trying to steal from him. i told him everthing over a bowl of baked beans and bread. That meal was the first meal i had in weeks, he looked at me with concern. He then offered me to work for him. I took his offer and forged swords as his black smith apprentice until i was 18. And on my 18th birthday i had decided to go out into the world and explore. I had told the black smith owner i was in search of my destiny, and purpose, but deep down i wanted revenge for my family. I wanted to kill all dark elves, and my new goal was to eradicate their whole race. It was hard to say goodbye to the black smith and his daughter, afterall i had grown fondly of them as they did with me. But my mission is far more important than the comfort of that small black smith shop.
