Val Nok is a wandering soul, who does not know what he is looking for. Perhaps his soul. He finds himself in a mysterious new land, with next to no memory. He has a feeling of darkness constantly tugging at him. He does not allow himself to break. At least, to the best of his ability. He remembers what the incantations on his chest mean, and the only reason he is able to bear it is because it's the only memory he has of his past self. His only hope. Val bears a sword at his waist, only once having to draw it against a wolf. He surprises himself with brilliant swordplay, as if he is built for a sword. He frequently dreams of death, and a voice telling him he is the last salvation, the last hope for his family. He wakes up breathing hard almost every morning, as if he had just been fighting armies of soldiers.
