You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"oh my, definitely wasn't what I was expecting on this part of my journey...but why not i'm down to rest and share my story" -I walk and sit comfortably on the cushion- "Well i guess my story starts very far down my bloodline when one my grandfathers far before my time stumbled upon one of your kind" -i gesture to the hag- "of course most of the facts have been lost throughout the generations but from what i understand somehow my grandfather felt entitled to something the hag had in her possession. and proceeded to become increasingly angry when he was denied said object." -i let out a long sigh- "so he did what any selfish person would do and tried to take the object by force and in doing so was ultimately was out skilled by the hag in battle and instead of killing him, she cursed him and all of his future children and grandchildren. That same curse is the reason why i have this prosthetic wooden arm. And why my father was taken by a slow and painful illness. i guess you could say i got kind of lucky. so now my goal is to travel the lands hoping to either find that same hag that cursed my bloodline and offer her something to reverse the curse and prove that im not as greedy as that old man, or find some sort of divine item that can reverse this curse, and if i cant then ill let this curse die with me, but id much rather live and raise my own non cursed children then live the rest of my life in solitary."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: i enjoy playing DND alot so im somewhat familiar with this, i typically dont feed into it and try to slide by without allowing myself to also fall into powergaming because in the end it truly just ruins it for others and ends up not being fun in the end.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming although is truly hard to not do also isnt fun because your not truly acting out your character, you cant roleplay as yourself. the whole point of roleplaying as a whole is to be someone your not and to have fun with it. at least thats what it means to me.
