Lou Lao was born to a lowly family of Adunian culture. He worked on his family’s farm until the age of 15. At that point he left to try and become a book keeper, but had some trouble. He worked as a blacksmith’s apprentice for two years before he saved enough to move to the next city over. At that point he became a book keeper’s apprentice and realized that he did not like that profession after all. In this time he read plenty of books, including rudimentary books about the creator and some history. He quit that job after four years at the age of 21 to find his calling. He has considered other academic and scholarly jobs. He has also considered learning to fight and joining an army. He made his way to Helena to find a career.
