    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It makes people not want to talk to you OOC, since they're worried you'll use the information that they told you against them when your character has no feasible way of knowing it.

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”


*I wrinkle my nose at the smell, scrunching my face up.* "Why aren't any of these candles scented." *I mutter.* "I wish I didn't have to come here, but I'm looking for my brother. You see, he's gone missing and I'm worried about him." *I sit down and cross my legs.* "We've always stuck together. He's my big brother and he always looks out for me." *I hold back tears as I explain what happened. I explain the fight with the town guards and what lead up to it, I explain that it's my fault, but most importantly, I explain that I'd do anything to get him back. Lie, steal, kill, nothing is off limits when my brother is in danger.* "So you see, I need to find him, I need your magic."
