    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Basically, it's a roleplaying term which means you act how the character would in that situation.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is doing godly actions in gaming.

As I approach the well-dressed gentlemen, I quickly think up something to say. As I wish to be anonymous, I think of something vague: "Just passing through". The man looks at me strangely, expecting something different. "Well I do hope you'll enjoy your stay and experience the wonders of our fair city!", says he.  Trying to move on, I say, "I'm sure I will." and continue on through the crowded market, leaving the man behind.
