    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Always consider the action from the perspective of playing your own character. The easiest way is to avoid acting on behalf of anyone else. Only control your own character and do not describe or force the effects of their actions on others. Keep powers moderate and proportionate to your character.

    e.g "She swings he sword towards their leg!" Is a fair and realistic way to describe an action. "She swings a sword slicing off his leg!" Is unfair and unrealistic since it controls an aspect of the other character.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: It ruins the immersion. You should only ever use information obtained in-game through roleplay.

Character Name: Galaxia Xi Nosterii
Character Race: High Elf
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 19
Physical Description: Long blonde hair, typically braided. Petite and lithe, as are most high Elves. 5'7, approximately 120lbs. One blue eye, one purple. White dresses.
Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

 

Galaxia narrows her eyes in suspicion, this person seems to know her. However, Galaxia does not know her. "There is no story to tell. My book is unwritten and I have neither a quill or ink to fill the pages." Galaxia comments rather candidly. There is little of note in her life, being a young High Elf out seeking their destiny in the world. She has a home to return to, though her parents will be distraught to find a sack of flour beneath the bedsheets where she once slept. "Though I do hope that someone out there can help me come to know all manner of things, to lead me to my quill and ink." No dissatisfaction in her voice; she left only to find adventure.
