Checking her surroundings, Mina turns on her heel to head to the market square but is approached by a lovely dressed man and a wide toothy grin. "Welcome!" he began. "What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?" He exclaims at her. Already being half way across the world the people in the city were much more genuine and approachable than where she had come from. The debate in her head left a few seconds between her response to this man. Should she be true and tell him how she wanted to escape her fathers reach or should she impress him, she thought. She opened her mouth to speak up, " Hiya, how about all the above?" she laughs along with the man.
"Thats awesome!" He began. " Are you lost?" " It looks like you're waiting for someone." Ah, she thought. So he's observant? He noticed she was checking her watch before he spoke to her.
Her father warned her about observant people. But everything he warned her about applied to himself. She rolled her eyes in her mind and politely answered, "I'm good thank you, I'm actually waiting for a few people" she lied. " They should be here any minute," she said confidently. She knew how to lie between her teeth smoothly. She was good.
A few seconds went by and the gorgeous gentleman spoke up, " If you need anything-" he handed a card to Mina, " Come to this address. It seems that you're unaware of how people are here" oh she was fully aware of how everyone is everywhere nowadays, but she kept her mouth shut. He walked away almost too quickly after that.
She continued to walk into the market square eyeing a few things she found pleasing to buy. Her head raced with thoughts. Aside from escaping her ominous father and attending school, what was she supposed to do here? Sure she could find things to do to occupy herself but she hadn't even thought about how she didn't have her friends around to adventure with. As for wealth, she had a lot of that. She didn't intend to elevate her place in society as her aim was to keep her head low until she was 50, until she applied for her throne. Maybe she could do with some practise, on how she should treat people, as a royal soon-to-come. This was hard for her. She nodded to herself as she continued to walk thinking of the well-dressed-man.
