    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is using out of character knowledge and applying it to in character situations. If your friend told you some in character information and you use that against them in character, that would be Metagaming.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Typically making an attack more powerful that it needs to be, but can also be something like just so happening to have a magic eye that reveals all invisible characters in a room (when fighting an invisible character).
