Salam Rafiqi! I am Svana from the great Caliphate, I'm guessing you can probably tell that I am a Farfolk it's kind of obvious. Anyway let's go back to my homeland I lived there with my parents there for some of my life when we weren't traveling around. You see my father was a merchant and it was easier to find more money when we moved around *sign* sometimes I wish we just stayed in Caliphate. Eh it's in the past, anyway I should probably talk about my family life now, well my father and mother were both very kind and laidback they weren't overly strict at all well I guess my father was a little but that's not saying much. He was the one who put food on the table most of the time, but when we were in any town that needed someone to do ant odd jobs it was my mother and me who helped out. My life was like that for about fifteen years? Then my father got older and couldn't work as well. So we all decided that it was best if we just settled back into Caliphate, but it was a bit of a challenge getting back since both of my parents were getting kind of older but, we managed. As we finally settled back into Caliphate we didn't know what to do my father was the one who brought most of the money and my mother was getting older as well and she couldn't do any strenuous jobs, there also wasn't any good paying jobs for her anyway. That night I heard my Mother crying and my Father apologizing over and over again about not being able to do anything and that is when I knew that I had to do something so the next morning I announced to my parents that I was going to get a job they tried to stop and tell me that I shouldn't but I had already made up my mind and went out to find one. It didn't take me too long the tavern near us were looking for waitresses. It was an easy enough job but it didn't feel right. I knew that I was supposes to do something else with my life I just didn't know what until one day, the owner of the tavern said that there was going to be a special performance next month and also not to be surprised when there are strangers in the tavern after hours. I didn't think anything of it but I was curious on what the performance was so that night I decided to stay after hours to watch them practice, the owner said it was fine as long as I locked up after everyone. Then these ladies in colorful garments came out and started to dance I haven't seen dancing like up close and personal there was the odd one dancing in the street for some quick coin but I never knew how truly beautiful it was I watched with wonder in my eyes. After there practice I begged them to teach me their ways. They agreed so for the next month they taught me all they know about dance. When it was time for them to finally perform the lead dancer had gotten sick. They didn't know what to do the only other one who knew the dance was them and me so they begged me to perform with them and I of course agreed I asked another waitress Camilla? I think that was her name to cover my tables for me and she agreed, then I asked the owner and he didn't object to it either. So I went back stage, changed into the costume, then went back out onto the stage and got into position. The music started and I danced my heart out, after the dance was over the girls all said that I did the dance perfectly the owner even cam up to me and asked if I could be a regular dancer at the tavern I of course agreed. Ever since then I have been dancing at this tavern People coming far and wide just to see it me it is defiantly a confidence booster my parents are very proud of me for doing something I love and I am very happy with what I do. That is all I can think of to tell you really I hope you enjoyed it Ma’a salama.
