Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Listening to the elderly woman's words, Ito wasn’t a person to disrespect the elderly, she quickly sat at the edge of the cushion. Fumbling with the blanket that was wrapped around her shoulders, only slightly, she answered the question with hesitation but honesty.
“I .. I only ran away from my home, I used to be in controlling.. Male dominated household. Up until I found a way to escape-” Ito’s words were abruptly cut off by a drunken man wandering around, each sound distracted her clearly. Worried some still, despite escaping a horrific situation.
“I ran away from the controlling household-” She paused her words, continuing slowly. “To start a new life, my family wasn’t the best.. And I was becoming old enough to form my own decisions, so I simply escaped my old life and branched out to start a new one.”
As Ito continued to express her story, her overall stance became confident. Being proud of her new accomplishment in this new life she formed, she knew it was the best decision to make.
