You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"You have been expecting me?" *He look a bit suspiciously at her but nevertheless take a seat* "I'm looking for a start for my story, I saved for most my life after I could get a job to get the gear I have on me. My life goal is try to fight fight in a war to prove to my father that I'm not the weak child, I'm the middle child and I've always been smaller and a bit weaker than my older and weaker brothers. I've been wandering for quite some time, I'm yet to find anything more than a thief stealing, not even a battle. I still await for a war.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I would avoid doing anything that is unrealistic/out of character by only stating my intent when emoting, as opposed to merely saying 'I do the thing.' As an example, in stead of saying, "I cut the enemy down with ease," I would say, "I charge at the enemy"
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: When a player is aware of things in the story that they should not be aware of, it can disrupt roleplay by giving that player advantages such as immediately knowing how to cast certain spells, knowing locations they shouldn't, etc.
