Ry'lynn's adopted father was in the woods one day foraging for supper, when he found Ry'lynn under a tree in a basket with a note that read: This elfling is cursed with a lame leg. As proud hunters, we have no use for such an elfling. If you happen upon her, do as you wish. Eolin brought the child into their tree home and showed Ry'lynn to his wife, who was elated by the blessing from The Mother and The Father. Eolin and Perdwith tried their best to raise Ry'lynn like any other elfling. The fashioned a brace for her foot and leg out of sturdy branches and the finest Dwarves metal so she could learn to trap and forage from the forest floor. But more than anything, she wanted a bow in her hand. Everyday, she crawled down the steps of the treehouse, into the forest and Pray for The Mother and Father to give her the strength to stand and shoot. She would lean on branches and logs. One day she was too tired to crawl back to the house from all of her exercise and Ry'lynn fell asleep in the forest. A few hours later she heard the sound of breaches breaking. Frightened, she looked around and saw a glimpse of The Mother hiding behind a tree. "For your devotion to the woods and your strength of heart!" The Mother said and she disappeared. When Ry'lynn looked down, the brace on her lame leg and foot was shattered and she was slowly able to stand, even is a bit tilted. She stumbled home and told her parents about her encounter with The Mother. After months of practice standing and shooting, Eolin fashioned her a bow and told her, "I found you in the forest as an elfling, abandoned by your parents, the haughty hunters they claimed to be, you have become a better person than they ever hoped to be. It's time for you to go and make your way in the world and don't be afraid. Go get us one last meal and we shall feast to your future."
The next day, Ry'lynn left her childhood home headed for the great city of Laureh'lin.
