Olmomir departed the wooden vessel slowly, his silver-grey boots releasing a creak from the gangplank's wooden frame. He turned to face the ship that had carried him across the rugged seas before turning back to the bustling marketplace. He pulled his hat down and held it low by its foremost tip with his index finger and thumb, trying not to draw any attention to himself, and began to descend into the swarming population.
The constant jostling of people forced his body in all directions, before almost spewing him out of the clustered crowds and in front of a bazaar that was surrounded by providers and consumers alike.
He was approached by a well-dressed gentleman in a suit and tie, who spotted him emerging from the crowd. The gentlemen smiled at him and gestured to the bazaar behind him.
(Gentleman:) "Welcome!" he began, flinging his forearms to the side to emphasise his eccentricity.
(Gentleman:) He withdrew his armed and gazed at Olmomir intently, as if trying to psychoanalyse the young man. "What, might I ask, brings you to our glorious city this fine day?"
(Olmomir:) My face remained expressionless, eyes narrowing slightly as if I was in deep thought. I broke eye contact with the Gentleman and looked down, as if almost questioning myself. I was brought back into reality when the Gentleman let out a 'hmmm'.
(Gentleman:) He scratches his chin. "Adventure, perhaps? Maybe to expand your wealth? Or are you perhaps trying to elevate your status in society?"
(Olmomir:) I released a small murmur from my lips before properly responding to the man in a proper accent that he was not expecting from someone of my... character.
(Olmomir:) "My purpose here is none of your concern. I suggest you try and find somebody else to scam with those defective compasses." I responded dryly.
(Gentleman:) He takes a step back, releasing a small gasp as his expression turns from one of friendliness to one of shock. "W-What?! H-How did you know that?!"
(Olmomir:) I smirked slightly under my hat before responding. "Simple," I said. "When you flashed your arms out like a moron to try and entice me, I saw them dangling from your inner jacket. I saw the points on each compass fly every which-way as they moved, implying that they are attached by a pivot and bolt, rather than directed by magnets, which I assume you have removed and sold separately for extra profit. Am I wrong?"
(Gentleman:) The man was still in shock, his expression has since moulded to don a tint of confusion, with only one thing on his mind: "H-How did you do that?"
(Olmomir:) I simply chuckled at his foolishness before attempting to satisfy his inquiry. "I come from a background where your eyes have to see everything, even when it sometimes isn't there. Good luck!" I finished, strolling past him and leaving him to attempt to collect himself.
(Olmomir:) I smirked. 'This is going to be easier than I thought.'
