    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: You can avoid powergaming by following the outline you set for your character. If you give your character certain character traits and constraints that you are required to abide by, then powergaming should not happen. This also allows for better roleplay as the character feels more human.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming ruins the fun of roleplay for everyone. Its kind of like when someone spoils a really good movie right before you watch it. People should not use what they know out of character for personal benefits while in character. This can ruin the whole storyline and make the experience less enjoyable.

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I'm looking for my husband," Azriela says with a worried expression on her face, "have you seen him? I went out to pick glow berries, which are one of his favorites, but I got lost. He must be worried sick about me, please help me find him."
