Rae was raised in Störheim, of a Noble Family, destined to become ruler of the Wood. She had no interest in this fate, and escaped into the realms of her books. Her mother, Saparina, lusted for the crown, and made attempts to take her life many many times. twas on one of these attempts that she decided to fake her death and leave such a place. She escaped into the darkness, and snuck aboard a boat. It was bound here.
Upon arriving, she made a promise to herself. Find a fair and thoughtful maiden, and settle down to continue her studies.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
