    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Meta gaming is when a person uses the internet (out of character) to find information on a subject or person. This is not allowed for it ruins part of the roleplay idea, which is to expand your knowledge as you go along on your journeys.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is unrealistic or "unfair" emote or response language that will show superiority over another player, and would ruin many good roleplay scenarios.

Aaron turns to the man, and addresses him “kind sir, I thank you for your hospitality, but I am afraid I have no time to spare. I am headed for the market to prepare for a long and dangerous journey, so good day, and do not delay me.”  

The man looks saddened by the abrupt end to the conversation but understands. This Aaron fellow looks like somebody not to be messed with.

“fare thee well then, and tarry not.” the man said, and walked away.

Aaron mumbles under his breath “waste of my time i do say...”

You do not reference any particular lore when referring to the “Darkness” and should instead look into the dark magics currently available in the lore. While it does meet the requirement for the amount of sentences used, in role play it is often better to use the words “He/him/his” instead of “I.” Below are several links that may be able to help you when writing about dark magic for LOTC, and when writing for RolePlay.
