Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Mirabelle doesn't hesitate. She sinks into the cushion and takes a deep breath. "Don't play dumb. You know my story. Everyone does, at this point." She fights the tears that inevitably plague her existence every time she tries to talk about her past. "My mom left when I was young. Never cared about us, me and my brother, I mean. My brother died when I was young. I only have my dad, but he has been struck ill." She cleared my throat. "I'm here to do what it takes to save the only family I have left. I'm here because I smuggled, I killed, and I stole, all to help my father. But if I'm caught one more time, it's over for me. I can't take that risk. But my father needs me, and I'll do whatever it takes." She gestured around her. "Even if it means coming to this dingy town."
