Theo lived a quiet, sheltered life within Haelun'or since his birth. He lived with his mother (Sora Goldenstar), father (Aeron Goldenstar), and older sister (Quinn Goldenstar). Theo was especially close with Quinn, following her around and sitting in on her lessons. He was especially interested in her sword fighting class, mesmerized by the elegant slashes of her longsword as she sparred with her professor. After a particularly spectacular lesson one night, Theo approached the professor and asked to be taught as well. The professor brushed him off, insisting it would be too difficult. Quinn noticed the rejection and offered to teach Theo instead. The young elf eagerly accepted, and began training. He sparred with Quinn daily, growing stronger and quicker each day.
Thirteen years later, Theo was sparring with Quinn as usual when a scared-looking human man with tattered clothing stumbled into the clearing where they trained. They learned that the human, named Fellix Astera, was on the run from his hometown after assisting in the prison break of a group of innocent civilians imprisoned in a huge misunderstanding. The siblings agreed to shelter Fellix, Quinn having grown a soft spot for humans after her first and only quest outside of Haelun'or, the contents of which she kept a secret. A year passed and the three grew closer, Quinn and Fellix beginning a relationship. Half a year after their announcement, Quinn slipped up and revealed her relationship to their parents. However, that wasn't the issue; a member of a group of elves obsessed with being pure overheard. Quinn was seized by the group the following day, and both her and Fellix were executed for their "impure" love.
Overtaken by shock and grief Theo could not bear to remain in Haelun'or. He was angry at the world, himself, Quinn, Fellix, and everyone else. Theo grabbed his intricately carved longsword and sheath, a small quartz stature of a dragon, and Quinn's barely started adventure journal, the ink on the latest page still wet, and dropped a note at his parent's doorstep before leaving Haelun'or. In the journal he found a silver and gold locket with a sun and moon carved into it's surface, beside a note. "For little Theo: if anything happens to me, take this locket and open it when you feel ready. Love you, brother."
Theo hopes to return to Haelun'or someday, but not for a long time.
