In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Using out of character information to change your in character response. Like having your character move to a city you know will be attacked before anyone in game knows.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Having your character become too op or given god like powers. An example would be deciding the outcome of an interaction in the emote "Jayce killed ____ with one arrow through the eye"

It all started Years ago when I was born in a small forest home, named Irrinor. The place was built by my father who worked as a craftsman up until he quit in order to raise me. While my father taught me woodworking and how to use the bow, my mother showed me the ways of making many natural medicines. I would always adventure down from the small cliff on which the home was built to try and hunt for my family, but even if I was successful, I always returned with some sort of scar or bruise.  When I would return, my father would look at me with a grin before  lecturing me on how I should properly navigate the cliff-side.  It was not long after my seventh birthday when I found an injured unknown species of bird while exploring, at home I would watch my mother make different medicines and what they were for.  Worried for its survival, I quickly scavenged the nearby forest in order to try and save the bird; however, it was already too late.  Promising myself I would be faster next time, I buried the bird beneath a tree, and started my way back home.  While I was heading back I hadn't noticed that the bird scratched me with one of its talons, which at first glance didn't look too deep, so I decided to leave it alone because it was getting late. But as I struggled home in the dark I began to feel light headed and soon fell unconscious along the path.  After what felt like years I awoke from a deep sleep feeling incredibly weak, and turned my head to see my father, who was pale and seemed surprised I was awake.  I asked him what time of day it was, and he told me it had been ten years since I was last awake.  He later explained that he and my mother used many types of medicine in order to keep me alive during the coma.  After processing this information, I took another look around, only to realize that my mother wasn’t there.  Before I could even ask, my father told me she had passed away the year before, and was buried under the cliff I used to explore. In the years after her death, he took up medicine in order to keep me alive, hoping one day I would awaken, but while taking care of my almost lifeless body our household fell on hardships, and we relied on the generosity of others.  So he felt as though he had a duty to repay them.  After our brief reunion, I stayed long enough to regain my strength, then he left to repay the debts he owed.  After visiting my late mother's grave, I made a decision to leave my humble forest home to explore different places of the world I was never able to in the past, and find something in life my parents could be proud of. Now, I reside in the place of Sutica. I try living out my days as a craftsman such as my father did.

Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 20
Physical Description: Jayce is a 5'8 wood elf with grey eyes, auburn hair that hangs slightly past his neck and leaves strands across his face, and pointed ears
Roleplay Scenario:

Jayce smiles awkwardly as he walks towards the man “What a strange question to ask, I’d have to say I’m here to study what knowledge you have in this great city.”  Noticing how the man was dressed, Jayce asked “if you don’t mind, could you please direct me to your nearest museum?”  The man placed one hand on Jayce’s shoulder and directed him into the heart of the city, where a large building with opened doors welcomed them.  Jayce spent the rest of the trip thinking of how he could make it out of that building with the oldest object there.

Unfortunately, your application has been denied because it had too many errors. Here is some feedback on the aforementioned errors:

  • Your Powergaming Definition is on the right track, though it’s not quite there. Take another look at our Wiki’s definitions for help, and I recommend including an example so I can tell you fully understand.

  • Your Character Biography is missing some lore references! Please remember to include at least two! There are many things that you can reference including but not limited to existing settlements, wars, and religions. Here are some links that may help you find some!

  •  Your Physical Description is inconsistent with your character’s race. Please visit the wiki page for said race and read about the acceptable physical attributes.

  • Your Personality Traits/Quirks must include at least one noticeably negative trait that will strongly impact your character’s way of life. Anything that can be considered a fault in their personality is acceptable.

  • Your Skin does not match the physical attributes of your character’s race. Please correct this accordingly!

  • Your Roleplay Scenario Response is too short. It must be at least four sentences long and include at least one dialogue from your character and one action.

You may reapply at any time as long as you correct the mistakes that were pointed out above. If you have any questions, please send me a message on discord @amelica#8025, and I recommend you join the LotC discord using the following invite: https://discord.gg/fwEQA2F. Lastly, take a look at the New Player Hub for further help: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/193743-new-player-hub/
