    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: The same as in DND, where you utilise information that your character wouldn't be aware of.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Forcing your actions onto others without them being able to contest them. E.G: "I knock you out, you're unconcious" or doing something that, realistically, is impossible for your character.

“Ay up, m’lad!” Fafnir bellowed, “comin’ on a bit strong aren’t ya there? Not even taken a step into the money-making square itself and you’re already pullin’ a quick tourist check on me? Respect t’ ye craft, oh conman of mine!” Fafnir laughed heartily, pushing his way past the well-dressed gentleman. His eyes scanned the bazaar, left to right and back again. It was clear that with the influx of tourism in this place, this would be the ideal location to begin making a little cash to buy out a plot of land for his tavern. 

 

“RIGHT!” Fafnir clapped his hands together. “Time to make a little bit’o cash for meself. Should I go with the begger this time? OOH, perhaps I’ll use the old ‘Magic man from far away’ gig. Aye, that’ll work in this kind’o place.”

He raised his hand to his mouth, shouting into the bazaar: “Come to me, ye fine folk, and witness the most amazing trick yer eyes will have ever seen! All the way from lands distant comes Fafnir, the great dwarven magician.”
