    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: To avoid powergaming in roleplay, always give other players a chance to respond to your actions instead of deciding outcomes yourself. Use words to show your character’s intentions without forcing results. Keep your character realistic by staying within their skills, limits, and knowledge. Respect other players’ freedom to control their own characters and reactions. Focus on creating a fun and fair story together instead of trying to “win” or dominate every scene. Finally, communicate with others out of character if a situation might cause conflict, so everyone stays comfortable and involved.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay because it breaks the boundary between what a player knows and what their character knows. When someone uses out-of-character information, it gives them an unfair advantage. This ruins immersion and makes interactions feel fake or forced. It also takes away other players’ chances to develop their characters naturally. Metagaming can cause frustration because it makes the story feel rigged instead of collaborative. Fair roleplay works best when every character only acts on what they realistically know within the story.

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…Im just a random person i should leave
