    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: To avoid powergaming in roleplay, I'll set clear rules with the group. We'll work together to create a cool story. I'll respect others by asking before controlling their characters. If someone isn't playing fair, I'll talk to them, and I'll always be open to feedback to improve my roleplaying skills.




    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming messes up fair roleplay by giving players an unfair edge. It's like when your character knows stuff they shouldn't because you heard it in a voice chat or something. It totally ruins the fun and fairness of the game because it's not realistic and doesn't let the story unfold naturally.

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
 

Me:
Taking a seat on the cushion, I meet the old hag's gaze. "I'm not to sure either but I vaguely remember something about this town" ...

- In your Roleplay Scenario & Backstory, please make sure to include at least six sentences. If you’re stumped on what to add. I recommend saying where your character is from, how was it growing up? Maybe talk about your character’s parents?


- Please remember to include backstory in the Backstory & Roleplay Scenario, even if your character doesn’t verbally talk about it.

 

- When talking about your character’s actions, remember to use 3rd person. This means typing "He / him / his", "She / her / hers" or "They / them / theirs".
