    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: i'll ask them not to control my oc or force them to do anything unfair and/or impossible. if they respect this i have no problem with continuing the roleplay scene and seeing it through, however if they keep doing it i'd have to end the scene and walk away. or atleast finish the scene and no longer roleplay with them.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: if affects the surprise of it all, or rather it ruins that persons roleplay as well. especially if they were leading up to a big finsih or ground breaking character development. in all, it ruins it for everyone.

Roleplay Scenario:

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example: Minerva speaks. "i have traveled far. i am not one to spill my story to but you look.. kind." she spoke sternly, calmly even. not wanting to be rude she sat, pausing for a moment before speaking. "i am trying to find myself. i have gotten lost in my years of traveling, protecting, and fighting. i wish to find a part of myself that i have longed for." she paused for a short while. wanting to say more but with a look to the hag she tipped her head. "i must go." minerva stated before leaving the tent swiftly.
