In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is the act of doing something that is generally impossible for your character or forcing an action onto another player. An example of this would be forcing actions out of people that are in your favor, or making your character achieve something that is not possible for them at the time or at all
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is the act of a character knowing something that they shouldn't, this can either be information to another person's character or information about the world that the character wouldn't know

Uuttuh O. Kot'sew is a female dark elf who while lives within Maehrel-Vaxu has a deep ancestry from Kurai Kuni, and it's because of that deep rooted ancestry that she's a lot more serious. As a child she was raised by a strict family who taught her the ways of the blade, in which she forged her dreams within the blade, aiming to cut through towards them, her dream is to become a living legend as a swordsman. Besides her history with the Kurai Kuni, her parents did in fact teach her the elven ways while she was growing up, teaching her all about the creeds, although the main creeds that built her mentality are those made by the Moon Mother, Helun-Velulaeya. She often recites some of the words of the creed as she fights, as if they were some prescript for her to follow as she went about her tranquil movements. While she is serious, she does have a more softer side that she wishes to show with the friends that she makes, although it makes it difficult to approach others because of her serious and focused expression. While growing up she learned a lot about swords smithing, not necessarily the difference between a good quality sword or a bad one, more importantly found severe enjoyment within the process of making a blade, she finds blades, especially katana's to be utterly beautiful, thus, she wants it to be her main weapon, possibly her only one

Roleplay Scenario:

The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

((How does your character respond? Please ensure your response is at least six sentences long, and uses at least two actions.))

Kot'sew looks at the old hag, her expression focused as if she was ready for any sudden movements from, but as she was offered a seat, her expression softens, sitting down quietly, listening to the hag's questions. "I've come to this town because I've heard that this place has something off about it, everyone within this town seems to be in fear for something that is unseen... it's strange" As Kot'sew is questioned about where she comes from, she takes a moment, thinking about what kind of information she should share to a stranger, before finally speaking her mind. "I come from Maehrel-Vaxu... I'm sure you've heard of the island before, it's a beautiful place if I do say so myself, I've found it endearing ever since I was but a child. As the third question is spoken from the old hag's mouth, Kot'sew's face becomes just as focused as she was when the old hag spoke up, she spoke cleanly with the words she said next. "I will become a living legend amongst the world. The greatest swordsman that ever lived, that I can promise."
