"The darkspawn shall be driven out, for these lands are now under the protection of the Princes in Reinmar. Wer rastet, der rostet!" Exclaimed a young Barclay whilst looking at the missive, before returning to his training with Ser Siegmund.

On a serious note, my first ever character that's the most memorable is Augustus Skynor when I first got myself into LoTC. Joined during the last 5 IRP years of the Empire of Man, just before the War of Two Emperors began. Shortly after, I had joined the Imperial Legion of Renatus and partook in the war against the Holy Orenian Empire. I must say it was mostly a time of gooning, and I didn't mind it at the time. I also did lots of paper's please larp, with gate duty being my favourite thing to do back then, I even had ZacClay come over the gates whilst he was live streaming.

I'd say one of the other best characters in the past has been Theophilos Komnenos-Arianites, born a bastard he dedicated his life to the church by becoming a holy knight of the Order of All-Saints and soon after the Supreme Order of Ex. Owyn. I had lots of interesting RP with him, including the banishment of a poltergeist in the Basilica in Karosgrad alongside Harald and others, you should probably remember that one as well, as you were a BSK soldier at the time. Though, there was also quite the amount of drama, since I was a member of the curia during Draeris' pontificate, which was rather controversial. Nonetheless, I went on to enjoy the RP trying to not pay much attention to the OOC shenanigans going on. Shortly after the Diet of Karosgrad happened, I retired and went on to gain a barony under Sutica which didn't really go according to plans, but I suppose it was worth giving a shot.

As of now, I really enjoy playing Anselm Barclay, and I have some great plans to achieve several milestones with him.

Anselm listened intently to Alfred's advice. The young boy still recovering from a fresh wound he had received in a recent fight against a group of brigands. "I ought to be at all times." He noted to himself, as he strived to become more accustomed to the term.

"Wer Rastet, der Rostet!" Exclaimed a Georg Leopold Barclay, brother to the Duke Emeritus Manfred of Reinmar, banging a fist on his chest.

Meanwhile, Anselm Barclay was still coping with the recent death of his father Leutwin, though his visage grew a soft smile upon hearing this good news.

Anselm, Leutwin's youngest son wandered about Minitz, unaware yet of his father's demise. After some time, he went to look for him all over the streets, though quickly grew a worried expression.

His eyes became teary once finding out the truth of his father's fate from the various gossips, the youngling not able to contain the sudden rush of emotions.

"Papa..?" Is all he could mutter.

"It's been a long and tiring reign, dear brother. You deserve the retirement." Manfred's younger brother, Georg Leopold Barclay exclaimed with a soft smile.

"Long live our noble Duke!" Exclaimed Georg Leopold Barclay seeing his older brother's ascension.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

A descendant becomes a ghost when his ascension to Ebrietaes is disrupted and they remain in the physical realm. This is a common occurrence to those who may have had an unusual or brutal death in a way or another, meaning they're unable to pass to the Soulstream. This is a lengthy process and may take up to months and years, giving enough time to form a spectral form out of Ectoplasm. Most newborn ghosts would initially continue their life as normal, till they realise how things around them have changed. 

Ectoplasm, which is the intangible substance of which the spectral forms of the ghosts are composed of and they may even hold specific abilities to manipulate said ectoplasm, according to the subtype they are. The mind behind the spectral form is able to shift its appearance and nature by its ectoplasm. Phantoms can also interact with other ectoplasmic beings, even being able to see them while they're faded. Even being able to feel a physical contact with other phantoms and feel pain from its attack. Due to the non-existence of a biological composition, all mortal needs are also vanished such as hunger or sleep.

Each type of phantom experiences pain differently, it may be dependent on what damaged it. Phantoms have a more sharpened and uncomfortable feeling of pain, which could force them to stand back. One of the greatest sources of pain is the sun itself, as the heat may buildup over time and become unbearable, although non-lethal, most phantoms favor to lurk in the shadows or during night. A metal substance known as Aurum is also able to inflict considerable damage against them, large lines of it could block a phantom's entrance or even disrupt their fade. Any Aurum or enchanted object could cause pain akin to physical against the phantom.

When a phantom is essentially "killed", they're banished for a short period from the physical realm and are unable to form again for some time. Its drifting soul may linger somewhere in the material plane till its ectoplasm has been fully rejuvenated. When severely destabilized, phantoms are thrown into the Elysian Wastes till they've gathered themselves to a functioning state. In general, phantoms also suffer great mental pain as their own existence is a sign of burden. All phantoms are depressed no matter what, although several subtypes such as poltergeists; which show signs of sociopathy or other violent tendencies, specters; due to past traumatic experiences they develop schizophrenia or traumatic disorders and gravens; who show signs of addiction. 

It is possible, albeit rare, for a phantom to shift its mental state. If a poltergeist for example somehow ceases its hostile tendencies, it may transition into a specter. While a specter may transition into a poltergeist if great damage occurs which in turn fuels violent emotions.

Due to Theophilos's past life as a member of the Supreme Order of Ex. Owyn, as a phantom he'd appear with the order's uniform, resembling a uniform with a breastplate, plated leggings and boots as well as his signature feathered hat to familiar members of the order or other clergymen. Though from time to time might switch to his regular attire, resembling a regular shirt, simple pants and sturdy boots. Due to his past life experiences, he may have a lighted "cigar" visible. Due to his phantom state, his overall appearance would be white to gray-ish.
