Character Background: Celte was born in 1707, in a small town outside of Renatus. Her parents, Hesna and Andiar, were both thriving members of the community. Their heritage, however, was hidden from public view, along with their looks. Luckily, both Hesna and Andiar had uncommon eye colors for high elves, both with green eyes, and white-blonde hair. Dying their hair with colors derived from roots and vegetables was common practice for the two, and when Celte was born, they did their best to protect her identity as well.
Unfortunately, the townspeople began to become suspicious of Hesna and Andiar, and they demanded to see their newborn baby. Refusing their demands, Hesna and Andiar were later that night. But while Celte's parents were being harassed by the townspeople, her godmother, Orileth, was staying with the new family to support Hesna through the pregnancy and Celte when she was born. Upon hearing this commotion, Orileth waited for Hesna and Andiar to come back inside to tell them she would be leaving with Celte that night. Heartbroken, her parents agreed, and Orileth fled the town in the cover of the night with Celte in her arms. Orileth heard word of Hesna's and Andiar's deaths two weeks later, and wept with their child in her arms.
Celte grew into a fine woman under Orileth's guiding hand, learning the ways of the old, and learning history of the realm. Her steady hands and careful attention to detail impressed Orileth, and she began to open Celte up to the old religions, before the High Elves left their practices, and began to show her the basics of druidic magic. Celte learned the trades of medicine, how to haggle for a good bargain at a bazaar, and how to protect herself in a world full of people against her. Orileth urged her to travel, but not without sending a few books about magic and medicine with her. Upon her first expedition, she traveled to the lands of Sutica, to see the wonders Orileth always told her. Upon arriving, she fell in love with the hustle and bustle of it all. She now frequents the wilds of Arcas, occasionally returning home to Orileth when she needs to rest for periods of time.
