Kast’aen was born into the Warhawke Chiefdom in 1634, on a farm his mother and father had owned. Growing up, he learned the skills of animal handling and farming. Kast’aen’s father, once a sailor, taught his son the practice of cartography, sparking a wanderlust within him. Once he reached the age of maturity, Kast’aen left the city, becoming the navigator for a merchant ship, On the ship, he was able to sail in and out of ports along the shores of Atlas and Arcas, travelling to cities such as Santesia, Norland, Sutica and Curon, keeping a log of his travels in a journal. Later on, Kast’aen retired from the crew, continuing his travels on land.
