Willow was born beside a small cottage deep in the woods of the Holy Orenian Empire to Fredrick and Abigail Knotley. Growing up life was peaceful for Willow albeit very isolating, while her parents loved her dearly she was never allowed to venture to far from their small home. Her father , a farmer by trade, was a deeply religious man who wanted to spare his only child from anything or anyone that could grow the seeds of evil that had been planted in every being by Iblees so long ago. But her mother had different ideas, whenever Fredrick would take their crops into town to be sold Abigail would sit with Willow and read to her. She read her books of fantasy, adventure, far off places, and Willows all time favorite; magic. Overtime she learned to read and write unbeknownst to Fredrick, and devoured every book her mother gave her. Sadly on the eve of Willows 14th year Abigail fell ill, and after two years of caring for her Willows mother passed away. After that Fredrick was never the same, he became easy to anger and took on a fondness for the bottle. Willow became responsible for the farm and but was still not permitted to venture out on her own. With the cycle of endless work, harsh words, and harsher hands, life would have been unbearable if not for the books her mother had left her. One day when Willow was out gathering herbs her father was tearing through the house in a drunken rage the unthinkable happened. He found her books and his rage was unmatched he collected all the ones he could find and pilled them high outside of the house. When Willow returned she was just in time to see him light the stack ablaze. Without thinking she stuck her hand into the flames and grabbed at her books managing to save one. Blinded by fear and pain she took no heed of her fathers screams and curses and she ran. It took her two days to make it out of the forest and one more to find the nearest civilization. Now she walks up to the cities gates with an infected hand, a burned book, and a new adventure ahead of her.
