Skalgiri was born to a family that needed every spare hand to survive, but often did not have enough to feed every mouth. As distantly related members of a low-born clan, the young dwed spent most of his youth running errands in the halls of Azgaryum for those called his betters. He had no formal education due to his lowly position but would eventually gain an apprenticeship to an elderly blacksmith of an Elder Clan, whose name was Osrik. Unfortunately the young dwed let his resentment of those more well off than himself get to his head and he joined in with a gang of un-clanned youths, the ‘Cavern Rats’. The Cavern Rats manipulated him into letting them into his master’s shop one night so that they could hide from the authorities. When his master discovered them, they murdered the old dwed and framed Skalgrili for the act. So, at the tender age of forty two, the young dwed fled from his birthplace. He would not return even after its destruction and renaming to Kal’Azgaryum. He lived in the wilderness, scavenging off of the land and eking out a miserable existence within a cave that way for a decade. It was only in the closing days of Atlas that he was found by one of his kindred, his youngest sister Bolli, who happened upon him by accident when heading for the boats to Arcas. She offered him another chance at a new life in a new land. He accepted the offer and escorted her there, although they split ways when the rest of his clan met him in Kal’Varoth. It was only after a period of service during the Three Month War, where he regained his Honor, that the dwed was reintegrated into the clan. In the past couple of years to the current date, he has spent his time finishing his blacksmithing apprenticeship with a new master from within the clan. Most of his family aside from his sister did not make it to Arcas and he does his best to protect her with an almost fanatic zeal in gratitude for the new lease on life she gave him.
