Born to a family in the business of blacksmithing and farming in the Raevir highlands, Mick endured a very physically demanding childhood. Whether she was ploughing the fields and harvesting crop or learning how to forge and repair iron, from a young age Mick learnt of the importance of family and work. The earnest girl had dedicated her life to the demands of her family and its business; work and loyalty to her loved ones kept her restrained from seeking anything else. Such restraint kept her at home for her schooling, too-- taught by her mother, Mick excelled academically despite her isolated education. Mick’s parents fell ill when she was 21 years old. When her mother died, her father, riddled with grief, was left to await his fate. The family’s once bustling business fell bankrupt. Shortly before his death, Mick’s father worried of the implications unemployment would have for Mick and suggested she travel to Arcas for a job. There was no work for her at home anymore- unable to maintain the demands of a business built for three, Mick would soon grow penniless if she remained there any longer. At the age of 22 her father died- Mick’s life of familial solitary came to an end. Upon her father’s death, she boarded a merchant ship to Arcas with what money she had left, a broken heart and naivete of what layed ahead in the world she knew nothing of.
