Mustafa grew up in a bleak cabin deep within the forest. Until the age of 14, Mustafa accepted the faith and philosophies of his family yet, as he grew, his personal philosophy began to change. His parents had told him about the Dark Elves of old, and talked about their divisions. The Warhawkes, the Onyx Sanctum, the Renelian Union and the Asimu’lei was what his mother called each group. Mustafa, however, did not agree with his family that these division were just and necessary. Nor did he wish to be explicitly associated with the Renelian Union; their stout religious advocacy was not something he was fond of. He particularly admired the martial prowess of the Warhawkes, yet knew his parents condemnation of warfare would prevent him ever becoming one of them. What Mustafa truly sought, however, was an alliance between each group of disenfranchised dark elves in order to reinvigorate a beautiful nation that had once thrived in Vira’kir. Moreover, he did not understand the benefit of bestowing such kindness upon others and began believing that rewards, no matter who they come from, should be earned on the basis of one’s actions, not on the basis of one’s inadequacies. As his opinion created a schism between family and himself, he took flight. Delving far into the forest, he stumbled upon two other dark elves – they too had fled their homes. It seemed their beliefs matched his own, and finally he found others that he could view as companions. Living off what the forest provided them, they spent their next fews years as travellers – training themselves in combat, herbalism and woodcutting. Yet, his friends, Ecbert and Val’hir, did not share his aspirations of rule. After a vicious outburst of words and attacks, Mustafa believed that it was his time to leave this forest and seek others that dwell in worlds he did not yet know of. Here, he sought to break into whatever community he found as a ‘normal’ being, slowly gaining the trust of those around him until he attains the resources necessary to build a region he can call his own. This brings Mustafa’s story to the present. A young, aspirational dark elf who lacks knowledge of the Arcas he now lives in; he is vulnerable, naive and passionate, occasionally acting out of heart not brain, yet he knows what he wants and aims to do whatever he can to achieve his goal.
