Yvacheslov was born in the Kingdom of Norland. Unlike many other Norlandic citizens, Yvacheslov’s father was not conscripted in The War of the Two Emperors to fight against the Orenians because of a debilitating leg injury. Although his father was not able to be part of the warrior caste, Yvacheslov’s brother willingly enlisted in the infantry to fight. Gustav died in the Battle of Upper Rodenburg after the Fennic cavalry encircled the Renatian forces. In his infancy, Yvacheslov’s father got him admitted to a prestigious school where he became literate in Common and rather sociable. Yvacheslov had grown up with a strong pride for the Highlander races he learned of in his history classes. However, he rejected Highlander unity when he learned that the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska had participated on behalf of the Holy Orenian Empire whose forces had killed his brother. Yvacheslov moved to the Duchy of Morsgrad after having lived in Dunharrow for most of his life. While Yvacheslov is grateful for the peace and does not actively seek war, he would be glad to fight on behalf of Morsgrad against the other Highlander kingdoms, or even Oren itself. He desires nothing more than to rout the Orenians like the Renatians his brother fought alongside. Yvacheslov wears the armor his brother wore into battle against the Orenians to honor his brother and show his civic pride.
