Rafnar the Portly is no special assassin spy or unkillable warrior (unlike everyone one else) and grew up in a small cave which collapsed at his young age of 32 when he was practicing mining techniques. Rafnar grew up isolated from other dwarves of any kind, and has never fought in any wars. Rafnar has only focused on his blacksmithing career and learning ways to get the best possible metals from ores, which means mining. Rafnar went exploring after losing his home living on mushrooms from the forest and the few occasional fish which he had difficulty catching. One day Rafnar had come across a small town which he had learned to communicate with others which was incredibly difficult given his accent. Rafnar had lived in the town learning blacksmithing on horseshoes and little nooks and crannies, until one day the small town was raided by orcs. Rafnar fled for his life with nothing and swore to make weapons to kill the orcs with and armor to protect people killing orcs with. Rafnar spent the rest of his time roaming from town to town learning everything about blacksmithing he could and gained a dislike for elf craftsmanship as it seemed rather haught and over the top for looks but less practical for the use of people who actually went out to slaughter orcs instead of hiding in the forest.
