Born into the Great House of Kaeronin in the Isles of Almenor, Elmyra was raised to believe that it was not her parents’ path, but her own that had to be forged and followed. Her parents cared for her, but often gave her the freedom to choose more than some other children her age. It was no surprise, of course, that she sought to learn how to be a skilled sailor like the rest of her family. That wasn’t to say she only concerned herself with sailing. Reading to Elmyra was just as interesting as learning to sail, though she never turned her nose up at the chance to practice needlework or woodcrafting either. She continued her studies into the age of fifty, where she spent the year completing he Almenodrim rite of passage. She spent her time using the skills she learned over the years, returning to the Isles – in her mind – a true Kaeronin. It was then she took to wearing the red beads known within her family, having felt she’d not earned them until the day she returned to port after her rite of passage.
Now that she has returned to Aegrothond, Elmyra is taking to continuing her studies. Her focus now is more directed towards other Kaeronin interests – both physical and magical crafts and arts. Though she is only just starting this pursuit and still in search of a worthy teacher, Elmyra is eager to learn and truly earn her name.
