Sedeli is rather young for her race, having been born in Tahu’lareh to her mother Shifani and her father Tortil. It was a hard birth for her mother, who had problems conceiving. It was a shock to both when Sedeli was discovered. They raised her in the traditional Mali’fenn way, prioritizing her education and military training, which began at home the day she turned 14. Her father was a military man, and often strict with her upbringing. This is believed to have caused her personality to be more withdrawn when forced to interact with others, though with her age, she is becoming more outgoing, seeing the shyness as a weakness within herself. Upon turning 15, like many of her race, she joined officially to train for the military, though it didn’t feel right to her. Her mind and body had been molded to this life style, her long, pale limbs firm from years of tutelage under Tortil, as well as tattoos that snake around her upper arms and thighs, marking her to show pride of her house and race. Making friends proved one difficulty for Sedeli, having been an only child. She did succeed in making one friend, Kirher. The female snow elf was the closest person to Sedeli, besides her parents. For 3 years, they trained, and then went into combat together. It was some of the best times of Sedeli’s life, though she still felt that deep within her, a military life wasn’t what she wanted. Her books at home, stacked untidily on her desk forever called to her, whispering questions she had always wondered. What was life like outside of the Mali’fenn? She had been sheltered to her culture, and she longed to not necessarily be apart of some other culture or race, but to learn the histories of the world beyond the veiled writings of her people. This longing is what caused her at 18 to abandon the military career her father had pushed her towards and strike out on her own, leaving the safety and familiarity of Tahu’lareh and chase the dawn.
