Born in the great city of Kal'Varoth, his parents were bakkers. As a young dwarf, he was quickly friend with other dwarfs and would help them with their matters. When he grew up, he learned the ways of blacksmithing with his mentor Rokvar. Thank's to him, he crafted his first axe. He then tried it on a tree outside the city and fell in love with the "smashing stuff" hobby. After that he was convinced that he would work as someone using his axe instead of building one. And so he went on a journey to help people that would require the skills of a master of the battleaxe. On his way, he met a humain called Ulvak in a tavern. They became friends since they share the same eager to use their weapons. They worked together for a while and encoutered countless foes. But one day, as they were clearing a cave, they stumped upon a giant cyclop. The beast was huge and none of them could kill him but Balindur though otherwise. He tried to attack the monster but could not deal any damage. His friend Ulvak sacrified himself to save Balindur. Since that day, Balindur promised himself to never put his confidence before the lives of his friends.
