Phyr had a pretty good life from a young age. His parents were settlers in Seyam, where he was born and raised.
He continued to live in Seyam as he grew up, living a modest but not well off life. He was not the brightest person, so he used his physical skills as a substitute to his educational skills, hoping they would suffice. He became somewhat of a trouble maker, and was known to steal alot, which was mainly influenced by a friend he made as a child. His parents were good and honest people, which made Phyr's behavior somewhat of a wonder. His parents tried to steer him in the right direction or help him with schooling, but to no avail sadly. His mother was a maid in a local tavern, and his father was a smith in town, they made enough money to sustain themselves, but rarely had the money for leisurely days off, but nevertheless, they were happy in each other's company.
One day, Phyr and his friend were off exploring when they were attacked by some wild animals that neither of them knew of. His friend betrayed him and used Phyr as bait while they took the opportunity to turn tail and run, which caused Phyr's injury to his right eye. From then on, Phyr became quiet, distanced, cold and untrusting, to keep himself from repeating history and being betrayed once again by someone he mistakenly trusts. He believes that was the right choice for his own well being.
Eventually, he grew up, and at the age of 18 (with a lack of great educational skills, to make a job out of) he became a wandering 'adventurer' of sorts, taking most jobs he could, so long as it paid him enough, he would normally take the job, but would still refuse some depending on certain circumstances he, himself, decided upon. His cold personality helped with his job line-up, as people rarely tried to 'get to know' him, so he was mainly known as a merc for hire to most.
