Isen was born in Dunshire into a relatively poor family that often partook in the old ways of Halfling roguishness and stealing. From an early age, Isen’s older brother and father had shown him the ways of sneaking and fitting into small spaces to pray on Halfling good nature. Isen found no such skill as the rest of his family and was often caught red handed while trying to steal. Isen’s smaller stature did not help in this matter and he often found himself being berated and handled easily by those who caught him. By the age of 15, Isen had learnt quickly that he had the gift of the gab in order to pry for information and gossip and get himself out of sticky situations. Isen eventually turned a different page in order to provide for his family. He found that trading information he picked up from those around him for food and ale was much easier than the Halfling roguish skills that his family relied on.
At the age of 19, Isen was travelling in a carriage when it had tipped off the road and rolled down a hill. Isen was stuck within the carriage for nearly a week. Upon returning to Brandybrook, he cared more for missing the local gossip of the town than his near death experience by thirst. Due to this, Isen despises being alone or in isolation and will often wait months at a time in any particular location in order to wait for someone and not travel alone. Due to this, it’s not uncommon that Isen will often overstay his welcome much to peoples dislike.
Like many Halflings, Isen does not hold strong religious values and will prioritise social activities over faith. If he was to choose a faith for conversation sake, he will always hold a place for the Pumpkin Lord in his heart. Isen has no strong opinions and loves to make debate just for the sake of it.
Although parting with his family’s thieving ways, Isen was shamed and shunned due to his history of being caught and the reputation his family held. Isen took a back seat and began feeding petty Halfling gossip to his family and others who were willing to give him money, food or ale in return for the gossip. Isen remained deep in the Dunshire gossip business until now, at age 36, where he has decided to move to Brandybrook in order to start his gossiping anew and escape his poor reputation.
