Fulgrim was born in the great City of Makesh, son of an Architect and a Jewelry Artisan. From an early age, two of his features began to shine through - both, this unending Genius and Innovativeness, as well as his unsatisfiable cruelty. What he lacked in physical strength he made up for with an uncanny ability to manipulate people, and by proxy bully others. His family’s fortune didn’t hurt as well, as he was from a wealthy family, yet he still chose the party of the lowest scum of DwarvenKind - Mostly, because he could get away with the abuse he was dishing out to those he perceived as less than him easier. While he was growing up as a delinquent, he did not abandon his studies - to the contrary, due to his unending intelligence he was able to quickly and effortlessly progress through higher education, while still making time and effort on satisfying his more basic needs - a need of settling Grudges. Grudges as small as not standing up to welcome him could result in tactically falling roof tile, and yelling provocations onto his younger Sister could have resulted in sudden vanishment of the yeller. While his Cruelty was never satisfied, he saw it as a healthy, even required impulse to “fix” the world. He often said that “A grip of Steel never tires” When the time came to decide on his future, he wasn’t interested in tasks such as Politics or Crime. He knew that the only way he could “fix” the world on a massive scale is through applying his genius - and applied he did, under Master Engineer Valezik, for twenty-five years he mastered the arts of Mechanics, Smithing, Metallurgy, Logistics and more. Surprisingly compatible Souls, soon Fulgrim became Valeziks favorite apprentice, and together they have made many great improvements in the dwarven industry. But Making weapons of War Eventually Bored Fulgrim - He thought that using his inventions personally would provide the great satisfaction he was missing so hard recently. During the War under the Red Mountain, with the help of Valezik he acquired the position of a Master WarEngineer in the army of Lord Dermam the Second, where he helped to maintain the existing arms and armor, as well as the siege machines. He also Invented new Tactics and Tools, most infamous of which was the “Orc-Thrower”, where he retrofitted an existing catapult to, instead of standard rocks and boulders, and Bound Orc Strapped to a Rock - Screams of Whom have sounded through the caves for the whole flight, ending with an inevitable Slap among the Orc Forces. While less destructive than normal catapults, no weapon was more suitable to crush the enemy Spirit. He was also looked down on by his peers due to his more than liberal use of Rock oil in underground passages, screams of burning alive Orcs as detrimental to their Morale, like to Dwarven one. While it can be said that his Methods were Instrumental in the defeat of the Orc Hordes, they did not bring him a favor on the court or Lord Dermam. Behind his back, both Nobles and Common Soldiers called him many things, Fulgrim the BloodyHanded, the Scorcher, MadFlame, or just plainly - a Sadist, were a few of many names that both sides called him. But the final strain broke on the siege of the captured fortress of Umbak, where he was removed from the Strategy Room during an audition with the Lord. One of the Advisors in a letter sent to Fulgrim after his dishonorable discharge wrote - “For your Strategic Genius, you more than deserve a rank of a General or even a Marshal. But it’s better that you will never command - as you would drown this earth in blood given a chance” When he returned to the workshop, he wasn’t welcomed by the open arms - his Reputation has arrived before him. But Valezik too was a man of Genius, and he saw a solution to save his reputation, and allow Fulgrim to still contribute his applied skills. Days before Fulgrims return he received a letter from his brother, Lord Alaric Grimgold, that he has made many breakthroughs in the lore of steam power and vowed his advice. Valek saw this as an excellent opportunity for Fulgrim, and so, he sent him to Urgan to assist his brother in the never-ending industrial expansion below the earth.
