Astra and her older sister grew up in the forests of the Western Heartlands, in a community where everyone knew everyone. Her parents are tree farmers, so she keeps that in mind when adventuring to find a new home. After the forest fire started by lighting burnt her entire childhood and killed her sister, she became weary during rainfall. Overall, she's had a good life until the fire, and only wishes to find a new permanent home for her eldering parents. She can be seen as pretentious, but internally she wants to be admired. The further she travels on her harmless hunt for a home, the more entangled she gets in the ongoing war, and the more she wished she had her older sister with her for guidance. And the more she learns, the more she suspects that perhaps her life wasn't nearly as sound as she once believed.
