Oakborn was found by a couple under an oak tree in Lenniel, and so he gained the name Oakborn Treeson. His parents treated him as their own, and Oakborn spent his early years in a community school, hunting with his father, Othari, and cooking with his mother, Aurata. One day when he was 8, and his father had let him do his first hunt alone, he was walking through the woods and met an old high elf man. The elf spoke to him and said "Hello, little boy, may I show you something?" Oakborn decided to agree. The old elf sat on a tree root nearby, and said "Watch this!" The elf then showed him how to make wooden arrows with a knife and stick. The old elf then got up and walked away. Oakborn tried it, and did an okay job. After that encounter, he saw a buck, and, using his own arrows, shot it in the jugular. He lifted the corpse up and dragged it home. Once he had turned 14, he and his family moved to New Malinor, and Oakborn was amazed at the bows of the Conclave soldiers, and made his own, modeled after the bows used by the Conclave. The rest of his life was peaceful, and he made good friends at the local tavern. When he turned 18, he decided to make his own tavern, and set out into The Fringe.
