Kaeda has always had a fairly standard life. He comes from a fairly well-off family, with his father having worked in textiles and his mother a jeweler. If he wanted to take them, there would be no shortage of safe opportunities for him to find security and comfort. With this being said, however, Kaeda has never taken for safe comforts, and instead has always opted for whatever would be most thrilling.
Kaeda has always been stubborn, and difficult for his parents to deal with. Despite holding deference for his grandmother, he never really paid much respect to long gone ancestors in his family tree. Though he regrets it now, growing up, he had always had an influence over his friends. He would use his power to mock, bully, and harass other children.
Today, he's simply content with finding enjoyment with others, rather than at the expense of them. In all, Kaeda feels lost in life, and only has the vague idea that he wants to pursue "a life in which I will never be able to say, for a single moment, that I regret in any capacity". At the current moment, this involves drifting aimlessly, learning about various cultures outside of his home, and seeing what the world has to offer for him.
