Jacquot grew up in the snowy mountains of Norland. Growing up he would be sickly and not do well in the cold. This led him to be sheltered and cut off from the world while he was younger. He would live at home alone with his mom while his dad was out traveling with the military. When Jacquot was around 12 years old his dad would come back home after being wounded and unable to serve any longer. His father was bitter and started pushing Jacquot to join the military when he was of age as a way to try and live vicariously through Jacquot. Jacquot would be forced to exercise and train even though he was frail and often sick (although this did help his health become more stable and thankfully not kill him). This would lead to Jacquot feeling like he only existed to serve his father and didn't have any other value. Once Jacquot was older he would start to become more aware of what it meant to join the military and feared hurting others. His father didn't want to hear his objections and at age 18 Jacquot would be forced into enlistment. At this point Jacquot had had enough of his father and his home so he would desert the army and run away from Norland. He would begin to wander the continent, hoping to reach the other side and settle down in the Commonwealth of Sutica. He has heard of their sentiments of equality and anti-war and hopes to finally find people who value him.
