A Public Letter to the Arcanic Court
(And A Reminder to Check Your Sources)
It is imperative that magical organizations of all realms band together and make sure that alleged misuses of magic are true before releasing information which may cause unnecessary alarm, or harm. Such information, especially when gathered and made public hastily, may often be incomplete or entirely false.
The Mages' Guild is actively seeking ways to close tears, and is actively working to prevent their creation, as several of our public meetings have shown. Additionally, a missive was made public this elven day condemning such practices. Micro-tears do not exist, are not planned for the future, and theoretical experiments - such as creating a single micro-tear in a secure location to practice closing a tear - have not been put into practice. There was an initial plan to create a tiny tear, and then close it, to make sure that the process worked, but this plan was quickly deemed far too risky, for reasons the Arcanic Court has been kind enough to reiterate for us here today.
It is with some confusion that we respond now, as we have been learned that a member of the Arcanic Court was informed the previous elven day that no use of tears was planned, including the proposed micro-tear. This member was identified as Renae Athri'onn, and she stood not five feet away as she was told this information. We can only assume that there must have been a failure of communications within the Arcanic Court itself, for its members to act on and publish information they already should have known to be incorrect.
As we have since the days of Aegis, we intend to promote responsible use and study of the magical arts throughout the continent. The Arcanic Court's intentions are noble, but their methods, internal communications, and failure to contact any member of the Mages' Guild for any sort of clarification or questions - instead relying upon half-truths and rumors - reflects poorly on their wayward organization.
It is understandable that one might jump to conclusions and rush to act, when confronted with the potential for such terrible occurrences as the creation of a new Tear. In such circumstances, it is quite common for fear and reflex to override logic and due diligence. It is not understandable, however, that the Arcanic Court made no effort to properly verify this information, to question anyone involved, or to even ask if any of their own members knew more of the full picture. Such neglect is unbecoming of any group of magi, regardless of how young the organization may be.
To reiterate - The Mages' Guild intends to prevent the creation of tears, punish those responsible for making tears, and close tears wherever and whenever possible. The Guild will work with whatever organizations, magical or mundane, are willing to assist in this goal. This is our firm stance, it is no secret, and if there is ever any doubt about our position on the horrors that Tears can wreak upon the natural world-

To say I am shocked with your snide comentary would be an understatement. Knowing that this here Guild planned to bring about such a horrific crime only to turn around and claim that they had no intent to do so.
You are correct in saying that the Mage's Guild publicly condemned the Voidal Tears. But it was not these meetings that revealed your foul plan. Through silent undertakings your ilk met with those of Elvenesse, agreeing to undertake the task of opening such a tear for 'Scholarly Purposes'. All in attendenace were in agreement, as stated by Ayche, a highly ranked member of your Guild and former seat-holder of the Collegium. You knew the world would refuse to allow this to occur, and conducted the planning in secrecy.
It was only through my personal involvement that your plan was revealed.
To those unaware, my name is Thessalia Elverhilin. Elder sister to Anordal Elverhilin whom was one of two Mages that discovered the way to open tears. I have witnessed first hand the horrors of these actions, and every day I work to ensure Voidal Magi uphold the delicate balance they so often overlook. At the time this plan was revealed I was an Adeptus Minoris of the Mage's Guild and was to teach a class of Seekers the truth of the Void, Tears, and the dangers thereof. Yet when I very loudly voiced my disagreement with the Mage's plan, I was was forced to resign.
Through my involvement with the Guild, I can confirm that their plans were legitimate.
Not only did your Archmage confirm this, but now you attempt to cover it up. You 'condemn' the very practice you sought to preform after you and your ilk were confronted, a poor attempt to make it seem as though we are accusing you falsely.
Shame on you.
Shame on all of you.

To say she was surprised would be an understatement.
Breathing felt wrong. Her lungs ached within her ribcage, crying out with every breath. She was sore in a way thought unimaginable. Every joint set aflame, screaming their protests as she shakily tried to rise.
It took three attempts before she was able to stand. The pain begun to fade into the furthest parts of her mind, replaced by confusion and an unsettling hunger.
Shock did not last long enough.. and anger soon took it's place.

Fire Evocation
Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:
Fire Evocation is the practice of summoning fire from the Void and into the mortal plane. The Magic allows the practitioner to summon, manipulate, and control Voidal fires. Mages cannot manipulate flames they did not summon from the Void, nor can they control the fires if they have spread (i.e you cannot set a house on fire then dispel the fire. Once it has spread, it is no longer able to be controlled.) Those who seek to practice the Magic must have a connection to the Void, and thusly suffer the physical and mental changes all Magi are prone to.
In order to cast any Fire Evocation spell, the Mage must first connect to the Void. During their connection they will display a tell in the form of mist in the color of their aura. The specific tell is subjective, and varies from Mage to Mage. However the Tell must be visible, both in combat and non-combative scenarios. Following the connection the Mage will begin to imagine the flame, concentrating upon it before summoning it into the material. Upon summoning it, the caster must concentrate upon the flame, allowing it to grow in preparation for whatever spell they wish to cast. Non-combative spells can be molded into different shapes and colors, though never white or black. Blue fire is possible, but it requires a greater proficiency and more mana usage.
Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?
Blue Fire - An Evoker can spend a greater amount of mana to infuse a spell with blue fire. The spell becomes twice as hot, but requires twice as much. It does not affect the spell beyond the additional heat signature and damage caused, and it does not spread faster by any measure. Combustion cannot be used in tandem of the Blue Flame. When casting, the spellcaster must use a tell of it being blue fire - emoting the flame as a tinge or full blue color.
Smoke - Mages can summon smoke from the void without the actual flame attached. This is typically used as a smokescreen of sorts or for dramatics. This smoke cannot suffocate, nor can the Mage or target see through the screen. It can be warm but not burn, and it must be within a 5x5x5 radius at absolute max.
Combustion - The Mage can briefly make their fire solid, causing it to erupt into a small explosion. After casting, the spell and Combustive property must be recharged if the Mage wishes to use it again. It explodes only on contact, only being able to make a blast that sends targets backwards. Combustion cannot be used alongside Blue Fire.

The Short Elfess paused before the wailing child, crimson eyes wide in panic. Seeing no other adults nearby she let out a heavy sigh. From this breath a deep crimson mist spread from her open maw, lighter flecks of red intertwined within.
Thessalia turns her palm upwards. With a soft crack a flame the size of an orange comes to hover several inches above the hand, it's form flickering alongside the wind. Looking once more to the child, the 'Ame turned her gaze back to the flame, brows knitting together in concentration.
As moments passed on, the flame's crude shape did begin to warp. Where there was once an open flame now rested the sculpted form of a butterfly. The flaming creature was intricately detailed with few indications of incorrect anatomy. Thessalia took a step forth and blew into her palm - willing the butterfly to circle the child's head.

"Now that you understand the flame, you must learn to call upon it." Thessalia intoned to the youth in her typical bored drawl. Flicking her wrist to the side, she awaited the initiate to come closer. "Connect to the Void. Make your anchor, as you've been taught." Mist sept from the Elfess' lips as she gave her order, the crimson pooling together.
Watching attentively, the woman allowed a smile to grace her lips. With the young Mage fully connected she allowed them a moment before continuing on with her lesson. "Picture a small flame within your mind's eye. Feel it's warmth.. picture it's shape, and the way it moves. Concentrate upon that image."
"Now." Thessalia spoke again, seemingly having decided they had more than enough time. "Pull upon it. Call it's spark and yank it out from the Void."
The woman's lips curled into a small frown as the student struggled. With a slight roll of the eyes, she snaked around their form and tapped them lightly on the temple. "Concentrate. You can see it within your mind's eye, now summon it forth. Pull upon the Anchor you have built and allow yourself to concentrate on forming it."
Thessalia's grin turned shark-like as the flame took form, peering upon the crude shape as it flickered back and forth above the youth's hand. "There you are. See? it wasn't that hard.." Casually stepping away from them, she allowed a moment of silence to pass. "Control is everything. I want you to turn that flame into a circle. Feel the connection you have to the flame, and envison it's change. Can you do that?"
"Very good! It seems that my time has not been wasted... for now." The 'Ame says brightly as she peers upon the crude spherical shape.

If a student powergames something, it is the duty of their teacher to correct them. Most often this will be a simple nudge, followed by going over the correct way to use the spell. If the student continues to powergame then the teacher should contact the ST for further correction/discipline.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:
"The Creator is dead, and man hath taken their place."
Homunculi are faux life-forms born from twisted alchemy and experimentation. They live what may be considered a curse, due to their lack of Souls, which renders their emotions dulled to various extents. Those that are born from such fall outside the domain of the Beyond and Fate, leaving them susceptible to both Holy and Dark magics that may typically not affect Descendants. To an outsider, the existence as a Homunculi might bee viewed as a curse; but the Homunculi find the opposite true. As beings born of alchemical devices they are naturally in-tune to it, and may find it easier to accept grafts or Tawkin Mutations. However, similarly, they have very negative reactions when interacting with the void and it's magic. Their regenerative properties struggle to mend wounds sustained from the Void, and it takes significantly longer for them to recover. As such, theywill often take great measures to avoid such magics, and may often have very negative reactions when in contact with Voidal Practitioners.
The creator of the Homunculi may choose to mold the creator's form how they please, but the Homunculi will always be Humanoid. Homunculi are extremely logical and do not allow Human emotion into their thinking, often causing others to view them as cold. They rarely pursue goals that will not immediately pay off, and while they have ambitions, they can never hope to near the same level as a Descendant. Emotions are completely unable to be comprehended by the Homunculus as they lack a spirit, and feigning such emotion is exceptionally difficult for them. In addition, they are unable to learn any Magic that requires a Soul. Homuncul may not reproduce, and are effectively aro/ace, and cannot have romantic feelings or attraction.

Subject 0012 has the body and appearance of a Human man in his mid-late twenties. His dreaded hair falls to his lower back in clumps of ashen black, barely mismatched silver eyes peer forth with a subtle glassiness... just subtle enough to give off an artificial impression. On first glance, one would assume he was just a simple farmhand, without extraordinary features and a very average face and build. The Subject is littered from head to toe in scars and stitching.. the most prevalent being the band that wraps 'round his neck.

It is a truth acknowledged by all that without entertainment, man would have fallen long ago. The word of a bard elicits bravery in soldiers, joy in sailors, and memory of those who have fallen. Without the minstrel’s talent much of history would have been lost or rewritten, battles lost and forgotten, commonfolk discouraged and bored. Art as it is known has been present in all era’s of history, and for that it’s necessity remains true.
The Lenniel Academy of the Arts has been established to ensure that the minstrel’s art does not go on to be forgotten. Unlike many schools, the Academy was not built out of a single nation or people. Academy’s Law
Having a gaggle of Bards in one place means that trouble is sure to follow. To minimize arson and stabbings, the Lenniel Academy follows a strict code of conduct. Punishments vary depending on the severity of the rule broken, ranging from academic punishment to expulsion. By sending an application in, the applicant automatically agrees to the rules.
1. Do not claim another Minstrel's work.
To do such squanders your own talent, and undermines that of others. By stealing one’s work you dawn the face of another and relinquish the rights to your own achievements. The Academy is not held responsible for what happens if this crime is committed.
2. Do not bring injury to other members of the Academy.
Murder or injury is not to befall other academy members. This rule may be ignored with written permission from the Lenniel OR if rule #1 has been broken.
3. Do not steal from other members of the Academy. Thievery is not encouraged by the Academy, but if it was, members are not to steal from each other.
4. Do not have intimate relations in the Dorm Room.
Do so in private.
5. Do not burn yourself out.
The light of inspiration is fickle. Ensure you tend to it well, lest it leave you permanently.

Prices are in Mina AND USD, just put on the form which one it is you’re paying with. Turnaround time is listed beneath each style, but may fluctuate. Updates will be sent regularly in cases where I need extra time - most art will be finished sooner rather than later. Payment is due upfront, and wips will be sent throughout the process. I, Camille Realim pledge my weapon of craft to be used within the tournament of Almaris. I am a lone Blacksmith. My blood is that of Malin, and my weapon shall represent as such. I will not issue any punishment or harm to Sir Reginald Persepolis Montgomery the Fourth if such an incident arises at the tournament. I bequeath my tournament weapon to be under his jurisdiction if dismantled or broken during the processions.
If any bodily harm comes to my form, or happens in response to my weapon. I shall ignore such incidents and allow for this tournament to continue. I shall promise to not use the devious acts of the arcane to influence my weapon or the tournament myself, for doing so shall have myself removed from the contest or recycled into different bodily fluids.
